At various times in our lives we all have unhappy periods, and these may lead to confused and overwhelming feelings. These unhappy times may or may not be connected to specific problems.
Counselling helps you to sort out and untangle your feelings and worries; it will provide you with insight into how you really think and feel and will help you make sense of your life.
Counselling can help you resolve specific problems and make your own decisions. It can also help you deal with phobias, stress, anxiety, depression, addictions, abuse, divorce or separation, conflict with others, low self-esteem, bereavement, relationships, and many other issues affecting emotional and mental well-being.
Counselling may not make any problems you have go away, but it can help you cope with them. It can help you accept what cannot be changed and support you while you do all this.
Counselling is not ...
... about others, it is about you and therefore the session will be focused on you. Counselling does not involve giving advice or prescribing solutions to problems because the aim is to help you run your life more effectively, not to run it for you.
